Nothing But Noodles - Scottsdale

I was pretty disappointed with Nothing But Noodles. I expected more from the Thai Peanut bowl. I ate half of Husband’s Southwest Chipotle something or other. Also, they don’t have milk for kids, a big minus in my book.

BJ's Brewhouse - Phoenix

My kids love BJ's. I think it's OK. I like the blackened chicken sandwich, the pizza, the baked potato and of course the pizzookie. The service has never been good, but the food is all right for a bar food with kids' menus kind of place.

Serrano's Fishmarket - Phoenix

This is not related to the other Serrano's, but posting one reminded me of the other. So we went to Serrano's Fishmarket for dinner. My dinner was good, just a combination platter, I think. My companion ordered octopus cocktail which was more like a ceviche, and they also had blood clams on the menu, which the waitress described as “clams, full of blood. You squeeze lime on it and the blood turns black. . . It’s not good”

Serrano's - Mesa

I love the bean dip at Serrano's, but am invariably disappointed with my entree. I usually get the Pollo Ranchero, I think. I don't go often enough to remember that I don't really like the thing that sounds best to me on the menu. It comes, and I'm like "aw man, fooled again"

Breakfast Club - Scottsdale

Went to Breakfast Club this morning. The Southwest biscuits and gravy are fantastic, but they come with eggs (and fontina cheese!) on top, so order them on the side if you don’t want them together. The blueberry pancakes were fine, I think I will try the Jubilee pancakes next time, with bing cherries and ice cream. Breakfast of champions, right?

Prickly Pear - Scottsdale

Prickly Pear is another restaurant which I patronize just because it's there, not because it's any good. It's OK, not great, not terrible. The relleno's your best bet, but I think it's a weekly special or something.

Longboard Grill- San Diego

After a long, long, long day at the beach, we stopped to eat at Longboard Grill. At that point, we were so hungry we would have eaten anything, but the food was good. The service, however, was terrible.
